Anthologie was formed as an collection by the architecture-, design-, art- and fashion gallery 'Quartett' in September 1983 in Hannover. Shortly afterwards this collection became an independent company with the location of Lower Saxony castle Schloss Hünnefeld/ Bad Essen.

From the beginning of the early 1990s the company started to concentrate on the manufacturing of lighting fixtures. From just a few spectacular and individual pieces of design lights Anthologie Quartett was very fast developed to an internationally known brand for contemporary lighting design. The design concepts of the company very well reflect the diversity of modern design and include a variety of unconventional lights. Furthermore, the Cellula crystal light is one of the most famous products of Anthologie Quartett.
