The Mikado suspension lamp was designed by Miguel Herranz and has won in the 2006 edition of „Light and Building“ the Design Plus prize in Frankfurt.Two stamped wooden veneer sheets, mounted to a pattern make up the shade of the Mikado lamp. The stamped wooden strips design in the air creates interesting plays of light and shadow. The strips give the shade a volumetric richness that changes according to the viewing angle.Please note that the American White wood gets darker by time a little bit and becomes a nice warm tone.
