Nur Acoustic Pendant Light

With the Nur Acoustic pendant light, Artemide raises lighting to a new level by adding a new element: sound. In many areas, good room acoustics are very important. Suboptimal equipment in this respect is reflected in the higher noise level and reduces well-being. In the office this makes effective work more difficult in the short run; in the long run, the effects are even more devastating. Acoustics in the room have been influenced by flooring, furnishings and furniture - now lighting is added to these! Lighting is obligatory in every room, which means that a light object of smaller or lager size is installed in any case. Especially in the area of pendant lights, it is therefore advisable to adapt the design of the lamps acoustically.

The Italian manufacturer Artemide has reinterpreted its iconic lighting series Nur in this sense, presenting the Acoustic pendant light with an ingenious concept for the positive influence of room acoustics. The bell-shaped body is designed to pick up the sound from the environment and simultaneously create perfect light. The special surface absorbs sound waves and reduces reverberation, the geometry of the body enhances the material's characteristics by capturing sounds from the environment. Last but not least, the light's color contributes to the overall appearance: the muted gray on the outside harmonizes perfectly with the bright white inside, which frames and optimizes the light.

The design of the Nur Acoustic is based on the lights by Ernesto Gismondi. In the workshops of Artemide the model is made, using first-class materials and with the utmost care.
