Gubi
The Danish manufacturer Gubi who, founded in 1967, initially only distributed furniture and textiles, considers design as a kind of treasure hunt. Iconic designs from the mid-20th Century is to be discovered, to be preserved and to be re-interpret. An especially popular example is the Bestlite series which was inspired by the Bauhaus, created by British designer Dudley Best in the 1930s.
Gubi rediscovered to unjustly forgotten design and created its own interpretation, consisting of an extensive collection of different lights, which are characterized by the same timeless design vocabulary. However, Gubi is not to be reduced to a creative retrospective, as also contemporary product series of young, innovative designers are an important part of the unique identity of the company.
