Nimbus

Nimbus – Pioneer in LED lighting

Nimbus was founded in 1988 in Stuttgart. The passionate architect and design enthusiast Dietrich F. Brennenstuhl drove the desire for minimalism design competence. This came only true with the development of LED technology in fulfillment. Nimbus was one of the world's first companies to recognize the potential of the new technology. Since 2000, Brennenstuhl dealt with the small, energy-efficient LEDs. It offered the opportunity for a paradigm shift in lighting design. For the first time, the designers did not have to deal with the shortcomings like the heat or size of bulbs and instead invest all their creativity in the design.

After over five years of intensive research and development the LED.next baptized technology was so powerful and reliable that it was ripe for the end customer. As a special turning point Nimbus considered until today the Module Q of the year 2006. The early appropriation of LED technology for Nimbus led to an even more consistent interpretation of its minimalist dogma. Less is more. But less is especially ecologically. And so is Nimbus, like hardly another company for sustainability and environmental responsibility. Thanks to local suppliers in the area of Stuttgart Nimbus reduces the CO² emissions. The company-owned vans drive with solar energy from the Nimbus Office. The manufacturer is also working with the Federal Foundation for the Environment together on projects to its partners count renowned universities and the Fraunhofer Institute in Stuttgart.

Nimbus is considered even today as an innovation leader in the field of LED lights. The minimalist designs are complemented by high-quality LED-next components, which are placed in the commercial sector as effective in the private sector by Nimbus.

Nimbus always manages to surprise. With the commitment of Karim Rashid, who had previously worked for renowned designer lighting manufacturers like Axo Light or Artemide, succeeded the German company, to offer its minimalist style a contrasting counterpoint. The Squeeze pendant lamp makes gaudy colors and a complex design for a varied complement of high-quality offer. Here also the squeeze hanging lamp is equipped with the LED.next technology that gives highly efficient and very pleasant light.

Rupert Kopp designs with Roxxane table light a lamp that is placed as well in the office as at home. It is particularly flexible and can be adjusted individually. This is due to a number of joints, which would otherwise be used in this form only in medical technology.

With the Office Air floor lamp Nimbus developed a floor lamp, which, as the name suggests, is especially suitable for the office. The Modul R pendant lamp is characterized by a particularly large number of LED elements, protrudes into the room and is perfect for over the dining table. The Modul Q Ceiling light, one of the first LED- next lights by Nimbus, is discreet and precipitated by its formal minimalism.
