Omar Arbel, chief designer at Bocci’s must have been a meteorologist in a previous life. How else could he devise a lighting series such as the 73? It has a canopy, and little clouds of glass are located beneath it, which are illuminated by an LED light.

With Bocci’s 73.8 rectangle pendant lamp, 8 cumuli clouds are frolicking beneath a rectangular sky and form a weather zone of their own in your living room. These clouds are not created because of the Gulf Stream, but thanks to an elaborate manufacturing process which Omar Arbel has developed for the Canadian manufacturer. For each pendant, a liquid glass body is blown into a flexible fabric form, whereby the glass adopts the structure of the form. When it is removed after curing, a glass screen of unique form remains, which has the texture of cloth and the effortlessness of clouds.
